Strategic communications firm is seeking a Senior Vice President - Education to co-lead the firm's largest practice area leading complex corporate communications campaigns integrating media, social, media and digital services for a variety of mission-driven clients in the learning and education space (inclusive of non-profits, corporations, school systems, philanthropies, etc.).
This role is essential for driving business growth and expanding the agency's new marketing practice.
60% of the SVP's time will be allocated to corporate communications, media relations, and PR and 40% will be allocated to marketing.
Senior Vice President Responsibilities:
- Client Management: Manage a portfolio of 30+ projects, ensuring they meet goals while monitoring risk and budget.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new client opportunities to meet revenue targets and enhance existing client relationships.
- Strategic Oversight: Develop and implement strategic solutions based on research, aligning with client missions and ensuring measurable results.
- Marketing Expansion: Lead efforts to grow the agency’s marketing practice, identifying innovative strategies and tools to enhance service offerings.
- Operational Excellence: Establish systems for project scoping, proposal development, and efficient task allocation to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Critical Feedback: Review work and provide actionable critical feedback to ensure the best product is put forth to clients. Lead by this example.
- Agency Presence: Serve as the "face" of the agency speaking at conferences, leading new business proposals, interfacing with clients, and marketing the firm itself.
Senior Vice President Qualifications:
- 12+ years of public relations, corporate communications and marketing experience.
- Must have background in education, learning, mission-driven and/or health organizations.
- Proven experience in client management and business development within a marketing communications environment. Mix of agency and in-house experience is a plus.
- Proven track record of leading business development efforts, including RFP's, networking opportunities/events, and leading new business presentations.
- Experience in contract negotiation, budget oversight, and financial management.
- Entrepreneurial and solutions-driven, willing to introduce fresh ideas and take calculated risks based on sound reasoning.
- Excited to enter a profitable and growing small agency and enhance its marketing capabilities while leading complex communications projects with highly engaged teams.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Slack).
- Detail-oriented and committed to driving growth in a dynamic environment.
Location: This is a fully remote role based anywhere in the United States with some travel to the agency's East Coast office.
Annual Salary Range: $160,000 - $200,000 (*salary is commensurate with location and experience)
