Location: New York, NY - Hybrid (2 days/week in-office)

Global small B2B technology public relations agency is seeking an ACCOUNT DIRECTOR (TECH) to lead B2B tech accounts serving as the primary client contact and developing communications strategies.

ACCOUNT DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and work across four accounts developing and implementing PR plans that drive measurable results.
  • Manage client accounts within budget and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Position yourself as the go-to expert on corporate communications and public relations so clients come to you first for guidance, brainstorming and strategy.
  • Build and foster relationships with tech media to drive media coverage and brand awareness.
  • Provide direction, edits and final approval on all messaging and related collateral created by staff, including press releases, pitches, briefings, fact sheets, coverage reports and backgrounders.
  • Partner with agency leadership on new business opportunities by attending new business meetings, co-developing proposals, pitches, and presentations
  • Support agency leadership on non-billable work, including team mentorship, office operations, and culture.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.

ACCOUNT DIRECTOR REQUIREMENTS

  • 7-10 years of experience leading B2B tech accounts at an agency.
  • Strong client relations with proven experience leading teams and serving as the main client POC.
  • Strong understanding of the tech media landscape, what drives news and how to build successful media relations programs.
  • Team player that both develops the strategy and executes on it alongside the rest of the team.
  • Critical thinker who can make decisions with limited supervision, effectively managing teams and timelines across multiple projects.
  • Calm, cool, and collected around senior leadership while being unafraid to share thoughts and recommendations.
  • Views the glass as half full and is excited to work at a growing agency have have a seat at the table.
  • MUST be able to come into the Manhattan office 2 days/week. Relocation and travel reimbursement will not be provided.
